Cybersecurity Lead

Position Description

Location: College Park, Maryland

Fraunhofer USA, Inc., Center for Experimental Software Engineering CESE is seeking a qualified candidate to build up a cybersecurity team to support medical device manufacturers and healthcare systems, standards development and training organizations, and local industry. The candidate will be responsible for identifying opportunities, performing technical tasks, and identifying, hiring, and training qualified candidates to perform technical work. Key responsibilities and required skills are described below.

The Successful Candidate will:

·         Work independently with limited supervision and be self-motivated

·         Leverage their personal and professional networks to identify and bring in new technical opportunities in line with the goals of the organization

·         Manage the execution of multiple projects simultaneously

·         Communicate complex issues efficiently and effectively to peers, leadership, and clients

·         Grow security team, win additional security-related projects, and develop a steady customer base

Key Responsibilities:

·         Identify technical opportunities through business development and proposal development

·         Demonstrate technical expertise and capability to assist in acquisition of contracts

·         Perform and manage technical work in areas of expertise and skillsets defined below

·         Interface with customers and respond to inquiries concerning technical capabilities and experience

·         Document, report, and deliver reports of technical workflow and deliverables

·         Identify, interview, onboard, and train skilled team members for the security team

Areas of Expertise:

·         Cybersecurity standards and best practices

·         Cybersecurity product assessments

·         Team building and management

·         Proposal development

·         Business development

·         Workforce training and education

Salary range: $100-150K (commensurate with experience) 

Requirements

Requirements:

• B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering (CS/CE preferred), or other technical discipline (STEM)

• At least three years of experience in cybersecurity field 

• At least two years of experience with project management

 

Required Skills:

• Direct managerial experience of a small team (1-5 persons)

• Experience participating in proposal development for government and industry

• Experience delivering training and interfacing with customers

• Experience delivering technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences in both written and verbal forms

• Experience designing and/or analyzing security protocols for software systems

 

Desired Skills – two or more of the following:

• Experience with red team security assessments

• Experience with blue team security assessments

• Familiarity with cybersecurity requirements and standards for medical devices and healthcare systems

• Familiarity with cybersecurity requirements and standards for automotive systems

• Strong familiarity with LINUX/UNIX operating systems

• Intermediate reverse engineering experience

• Intermediate programming experience
